New wall hangings loaded!!

“April Showers,” a whole cloth, machine quilted, hand beaded and embellished batiked drawing of tulips in the rain, “Reallocate” a 3 piece quilted wall hanging dedicated to the spirit of making beautiful use of the left-overs, and “Compositions 4 Spring” a four piece wall hanging that explores hard and soft cloth, all in the wall hangings area of the fabric items section...

New scarves loaded!!

Two new rayon scarves and three neck quilts are up... I made a scarf to attach to the bottom of the long sleeved demi jacket to add a bit more length, in the wearables area of the rayon · silk · wearables section... Four new silk scarves are up in the silk section.

New fats loaded!!

Four new fat quarters are loaded, 3 in the "cool" cotton area, 1 in the "painted" area. We had quite the winter here on the Palouse... Winter 2007-08 will be one for the record books in that Highway 195 between Uniontown and Pullman was closed for days at a time, this meant that I was unable to get to the Barn. What's certainly more historic, they actually closed Washington State University for a day and a half (and I believe University of Idaho was closed also) due to the bad winter weather. These new fats are inspired by the colors of the sky and the snow covered rolling Palouse fields on my first drive back to the Barn once the highway re-opened.

Batik Classes

The class was a great success! Four ladies joined me, and we all had a fun time, learning a lot from each other. I know I had a fabulous time! The class was scheduled at the Dahmen Barn for March 15, 2008. Pictures from the class posted here.

I would love to hear from you!
